After reading about Leslie McDevitt’s Give Me A Brake Game and watching this video by Susan Garret on nail trimming, I decided to apply reverse psychology to nail grinding.
So, I’d start grinding Lupe’s nails. If she complained or pulled her paw back, I’d say “Fine, I didn’t want to do your nails anyway.” And then I’d start dgrinding Puddin’s nails. As soon as Puddin started complaining, I’d go back to Lupe. After a couple of weeks of this, I now have two girls who actually argue over whose nails I’m going to grind. Well, it also helps that the girls get fed meat after each nail.
